Surgeons often prefer curved models for dissection because they provide a better field of view. Straight scissors are used for the shear cutting of sutures.
Laparoscopic scissors are used to cut a variety of tissue, including fibrotic or calcified tissue, sutures, and occasionally tissue containing staples.
Laparoscopic graspers are maneuvered through incisions that are usually no larger than 5 mm. They enable the surgeon to grasp and manipulate abdomen tissue with precision without having to cut open the abdomen
